String Operation in Automation Anywhere – Part 1In Automation anywhere we need to manipulate text quite a lot of time like we might need to extract a portion of text data from an email or from a website or even any running application window. Some times we need to search for a particular word from a string, need to do comparisons between two strings or even change the case of string from lower to upper or vice versa.
Before-After: This control allows us to find a particular string from given string.
Above settings will give Automation Anywhere as output.
Compare: This subcommand allow us to do comparisons between specified string and given string
Here we have assigned output into a variable ‘stringTest’ and we got output in msgbox. It gives output as Boolean (true /false)
Find: This command gives us positional index of searched string in source string
Split: This command is very useful when we want to split a string bases on some separate or delimiter. Here we can see days of week separated by, that we will put in delimiter field and output we have assigned in list variable. To get all splited string we have to loop through the list variable.
